HTC have recently launched a trio of impressive new smartphones which include the new flagship HTC One X device. It seems that the developers however have not neglected the more budget end of the smartphone market and a new phone running on the Ice Cream Sandwich of the Android operating system is being launched to appeal to consumer looking for a high quality but competitively priced device.
The new HTC Golf is a phone that aims to provide excellent features and functionality at price that will appeal to younger users or people who do not want to pay a premium for cutting edge technology like you will find on models like the HTC One X. The model is rumoured to incorporate a 3.5 inch display that can offer an HVGA resolution. Processing power on the new model has not been confirmed but we can expect a single core chip to be used that is clocked somewhere around the 1Ghz level. 512MB of RAM memory will accompany this processor while the handset will offer 4GB of internal storage capacity which should prove ample for users of a device such as this. Anybody who is looking for more space will probably be looking to make more use of multi media features and therefore would be better advised to look at one of the models in the higher specification HTC One range. The HTC Golf is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2012 and will be released in a number of different colours which helps to suggest that the phone is targeting a teenage audience.
The new HTC Golf will join the three HTC One devices which were unveiled in February. This trio of devices offer more in the way of processing power and also come fitted with larger screens than what we are expecting the Golf to offer. The premium model in this new range is the excellent HTC One X which is the first quad core phone ever released by HTC. This handset incorporates a massive 4.7 inch S-LCD display and an 8 mega pixel digital camera which can also record video footage at 1080P resolution. For consumers looking for a more mid range device the One S offers the same camera features as the One X but with a smaller 4.3 inch display and a less powerful 1.5Ghz dual core processor. The One V model in the third handset in the range and offers slightly higher specification than the new Golf. A 3.7 inch screen and 5 mega pixel camera make it a perfect option for people looking for a competitively priced model that offers some good multi media features.
The introduction of the new Golf handset should ensure that HTC have a handset available for all different requirements. This budget model will appeal thanks to the inclusion of the excellent ICS version of the Android OS while the top of the range HTC One X offers everything that you could ask from a premium smartphone.
The HTC One X and the HTC Sensation XE are available now.
